New York Head Start Agency
2023
July 11, 2023
To Whom It May Concern:
My team and I had the pleasure of working with Ms. Yolanda V. Doyle for over one year. Yolanda was
referred to East Side House by another New York based provider. Her work with East Side House
commenced as we prepared for our FA2 audit. Her insight, knowledge, and proficiency with ChildPlus
helped us to successfully pass our FA2 audit. Our collaboration has expanded since then and we have
brought Yolanda on as a permanent consultant. She provides staff training, management training, and
supports the on-going monitoring and quality improvement for our program. We are looking forward to
continuing our agency’s work with Yolanda during the 2023-2024 school year.
At our agency, Yolanda provides training and technical assistance for Head Start/Early Head Start
programs among at five centers. On average, Yolanda trained approximately 20 frontline content area,
center leadership and compliance monitoring staff, all with varying levels of knowledge, experience, and
personalities. Yolanda managed to support staff with professionalism, grace, compassion and when
necessary, a firm hold. She is strategic in thought and approach, intentionally determining next steps during
any given circumstance.
Yolanda has the important traits of being timely, professional, as well as possessing the ability to
eloquently help trainees learn the information in the training manual and guide them through fields
reflected in our ChildPlus database. Her experience as a Head Start Director sets her apart from other
trainers. Because her training and technical assistance sessions provided the results needed to help our staff
achieve individual work and agency accomplishments. I attribute this to Yolanda’s inherent ability to
connect with her trainees, her ability to listen, to hear and to inquire. Seeking to understand and engaging
learners gives Yolanda an edge-up, a lead, a higher success rate than other trainers.
I have found Yolanda to be a competent thought partner and an asset. I recommend Ms. Yolanda V. Doyle,
without reservation. Please feel free to contact me at (917) 434-2294.
Sincerely,
Dawn Heyward, LMSW, MS-NPL

I have had the pleasure of knowing Ms. Doyle for over two years and she has been very instrumental in the growth of my component area (Family Service) as well as the growth of my leadership. She is one of the most dedicated professionals I’ve worked with and is willing to put in the extra help whenever you need it….she’s accessible and prompt with returning calls and emails. Ms. Doyle knows how to build a solid foundation by asking thoughtful and brilliant questions that challenge you to consider your own “why”. She helps you find your originality and what makes you the best in your field, she doesn’t fabricate it- she helps you find it. She is empowering, funny, efficient and highly intelligent in all ways. Ms. Doyle definitely has a deep understanding of her craft and has done a great job sharing her knowledge with not only my component area but the entire Head Start Program. Ms. Doyle has a wealth of knowledge to share! Her contribution is valuable, and I highly recommend Ms. Doyle.

To Whom It May Concern:
My team and I had the pleasure of working with Ms. Yolanda V. Doyle for five
years. Yolanda’s work with Evanston/Skokie CC SD 65’s Early Childhood programs
began during the 2015-2016 school year. I am looking forward to continuing our
agency’s work with Yolanda during the 2020-2021 school year. At our agency,
Yolanda provided training and technical assistance for three Early Childhood
programs among two different agencies and four different centers. On average,
Yolanda trained approximately 30 frontline content area, center leadership and
compliance monitoring staff, all with varying levels of knowledge, experience
and personalities - some more bold than others. All of which, Yolanda managed
effortlessly with grace, compassion and when necessary, a firm hold. Calmy,
patiently, strategically and intentionally, determining next steps while in the midst
of any given circumstance

During one request for training and technical assistance, the agency, Yolanda
was affiliated with at the time, sent a different trainer. The trainer was timely,
professional and had the ability to eloquently regurgitate the information in the
training manual and on the promethean board. While these traits are important
for trainers to possess, both my staff and I, immediately, noticed something was
different between Yolanda’s training sessions and the other trainer’s training
session. My staff asked that I request Yolanda for future trainings, and I consistently
have, now going into our sixth year.
As a trainer, Yolanda has the important traits of being timely, professional, as well
as, possesses the knowledgeable ability to eloquently help trainees learn the
information in the training manual and guide them through fields reflected on
promethean boards. What sets her apart from other trainers is that Yolanda’s
trainings are more effective, more efficient, more productive, more fulfilling, and
much more successful than our team’s experiences with other trainers. Yolanda
conducts training sessions by conveying clear concise information. Because of
this, her training and technical assistance sessions provided the results needed to
help our staff achieve individual work and agency accomplishments. I attribute
this to Yolanda’s inherent ability to connect with her trainees, her ability to listen,
to hear and to inquire. Seeking to understand and engaging learners gives
Yolanda an edge-up, a lead, a higher success rate than other trainers.
A teacher at heart, Yolanda clearly grasps and implements the concepts of
individualizing, adult learning and systems thinking. Three of many key
components that make an excellent trainer. I recommend Ms. Yolanda V. Doyle,
without reservation. Please feel free to contact me at (847) 859-8304.
Sincerely,
